In lip tattooing, there are two popular types of pigments: inorganic pigments and organic pigments.
Inorganic pigments
- Inorganic pigments have the ability to adhere to the skin easily and maintain color for a long time.
- They are a suitable choice for those who prefer bold colors. However, inorganic pigments may cause color fading and result in permanent gray or purplish spots due to the presence of lead.
Organic pigments: - Organic pigments produce natural and gentle colors, delivering a fashionable style.
- The organic components of these pigments are safe and do not harm the skin. However, organic pigments take longer to develop color and only last for 3 to 5 years.
- Organic pigments address many drawbacks of inorganic pigments in terms of safety and health. Therefore, the cost of organic pigments is usually higher.
